Tips & Tricks from Our Judges

 

  1. Avoid distracting backgrounds.

 2. Try photographing from different angles. (i.e. from above or below)

3.  Use the macro setting on compact cameras. They give excellent results - equal to fancier expensive cameras.

4.  Keep your camera steady. Use a tripod or set it on something sturdy and use the self timer.

•Sharpening

•Noise Reduction

•Saturation/desaturation

•Conversion to black and white or single color

•Cropping, resizing, rotating

•Eliminating dust and scratches


 

•Adding artistic or texture type filters

•Removing or adding objects

•Creating a new image from one or more images

•Digital artwork

•HDR (High Dynamic Range) conversion

•Selective coloring, toning or tinting

•Multi-layer compositions or collages

•Multiple exposures

•Multiple images that are mounted in one matte
